Fever-Induced Brugada Syndrome (BrS): Clinical Case Presentation and Short Review on Brugada Syndrome
نویسندگان
چکیده
In 1992, Brugada syndrome (BrS) was described for the first time as a pattern of ST-segment elevation in right precordial electrocardiography (EKG) leads with high incidence unexplained cardiac arrest (UCA) and sudden death (SCD) patients structurally normal hearts [1]. It is associated an autosomal dominant genetic predisposition. Therefore, case diagnosed UCA or SCD, first-degree relatives are advised to be screened abnormalities.

Fever-Induced Brugada Syndrome
Brugada syndrome is increasingly recognized as a cause of sudden cardiac death. Many of these patients do not get diagnosed due its dynamic and often hidden nature. We have come a long way in understanding the disease process, and its electrophysiology appears to be intimately linked with sodium channel mutations or disorders. The cardiac rhythm in these patients can deteriorate into fatal vent...

Brugada syndrome is a rare cardiac arrhythmia characterized by electrocardiographic right bundle branch block and persistent ST-segment elevation in the right precordial leads. It is associated with ventricular fibrillation and a high risk for sudden cardiac death, predominantly in younger males with structurally normal hearts. Patients can remain asymptomatic, and electrocardiographic patterns...
متن کاملBrugada syndrome.
First introduced as a new clinical entity in 1992, the Brugada syndrome is associated with a relatively high risk of sudden death in young adults, and occasionally in children and infants. Recent years have witnessed a striking proliferation of papers dealing with the clinical and basic aspects of the disease. Characterized by a coved-type ST-segment elevation in the right precordial leads of t...
متن کامل[Brugada syndrome].
The Brugada syndrome is characterised clinically by the occurrence of syncope or sudden death due to ventricular arrhythmias in patients with structurally normal hearts and electrocardiographic signs of right bundle branch block and ST elevation in the right precordial leads (V1 to V3). The transmission of the condition is autosomal dominant with variable penetration. Mutations have been identi...

In 1992 it has originally been described as an autosomal-dominant inherited arrhythmic disorder defined by ST elevation with successive negative T wave without structural cardiac abnormalities in the right precordial leads [3]. In 1996, in the description of the cellular basis for the J-wave of the ECG by Yan a...
